Zomblog has obtained an extremely rare copy of the first issue of Osawatomie, a newspaper published by the Weather Underground in 1975. Noteworthy passages are reproduced below, along with exact transcriptions. The full pages, with each passage in context in high resolution, are found at the bottom of this post.

Much of Osawatomie, which was written at a time when the Dohrn-Ayers wing of the Weather Underground was transitioning from terrorism to “working from the inside” for revolution, concerns itself with the need to encourage “organizers” who will work in “communities” and use “audacity” to bring about “socialism” in America.

Don’t believe me? Read the quotes for yourself, and see them in context on the full pages below.

Rather than analyze the significance of the parallels between the ideas in Osawatomie, Barack Obama’s personal history as a “community organizer,” and the strategies, slogans and goals of his campaign for the presidency, I will let you the reader decide for yourself.

  The Weather Underground Organization logo in 1975;
the Obama for President campaign logo in 2008.

As with my earlier posts about Prairie Fire and Obama’s review of Ayers’ book, media members and bloggers are granted full permission to use the images and transcriptions on this page freely and without restriction or attribution.

Many thanks to Zomblog contributors experiencedtraveler and Sharmuta, who did the actual legwork of tracking down and obtaining this rare document.

The following quotes are scanned directly from Osawatomie, with a transcription below each image.

Revolutionaries must be organizers.

There are serious antiracist organizers building a revolutionary base in working class communities — in neighborhoods, shops, mills, mines, social institutions. There are those who are working among women, GI’s, vets, prisoners, among youth, students and the unemployed in every part of the country. There are some who have been at it for years and some who have just begun. Thousands more are needed; and each particular piece of work will have to be linked up into a whole. We need to out-organize the sophisticated and well-financed forces of George Meany, Louise Day Hicks, Ronald Reagan, George Wallace and Albert Shanker. Organizers need to crush this reactionary leadership with a revolutionized torrent of people.

But revolutionaries expect adversity, expect to be fought every inch of the way by an entrenched ruling class, expect to confront danger and demoralization and overcome it, with creativity and audacity.

Theory and ideology are important tools, and we should make study of Marxism-Leninism an important part of our work.

Organizers must be intimately aware of every problem and each injustice, and they must show that underneath each particular problem lies another problem, and another and another until you reach the system of imperialism itself. The system is designed to create problems for poor, Third World and working-class people. Organizers need to find small solutions to small problems and great solutions to great problems. Our solutions should be drastic.

We need to build a successful struggle, strong organization and a winning revolutionary party. This is a process, which will not emerge full-blown from our minds. It will emerge and change and grow from practice. We know where to begin.

It is with all this in mind that we have created OSAWATOMIE, the revolutionary voice of the Weather Underground Organization.

Left analysis is seen mainly in papers circulated among leftists, left solutions are heard mainly in meetings of the left. And what a shame! Because some of that analysis and some of those solutions make sense, describe concrete conditions, prescribe real remedies. Some of that interpretation of events could provide needed leadership in struggle. But isolated from the people, the makers of history and the carriers of change, it is useless.

The immediate task for the left is this: organize the masses of people against imperialism and for revolution. Pull together friends and comrades, whether three or thirty. Explain the roots of the current economic and social crisis. Fight for jobs and for funds for urgent relief programs. Wealth should be taken from the Pentagon budget and used to rebuild our cities, schools and hospitals.

Now comes a time of decision for the left. Can we overcome the small points that divide us? Can we come together to confront the enemy? Can we build a revolutionary practice firmly rooted among masses of people? Can we transform our lives in order to play our part in the developing storm?

These are the questions that press in on the left today. These are the questions because of this contradiction: millions of people are suffering from the crisis and conflicts generated by the imperialist system, and yet the left is small, dispersed and divided, not a visible force in the lives of the people. Revolutionary politics do not have a strong voice. The left is not situated to fulfill its historic mission — to focus and lead and make sense of mass discontent — to carry the present situation to its furthest limits.

… the system itself is inhuman, and socialism is a real alternative; the energy crisis is the fault of Rockefeller and the oil companies, not the Arab people; unemployment is caused by capitalism not “illegal aliens” stealing jobs; war in Indochina or the Mideast is part of the problem, not the solution; political and social action can change things.

… the Weather Underground Organization’s development. Like all our work, OSAWATOMIE is guided by a commitment to struggle, a determination to fight the enemy, the certainty that we will see revolution in our lifetime

Here are the cover and three interior pages from the first issue of Osawatomie, from which all the the excerpts depicted above were taken. Click on each image to see it in high resolution:

Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn have recently written a new book, Race Course Against White Supremacy, which will be published in June, 2009:

In the center of the book’s cover is a hidden design which seems to be an homage to their Weather Underground logo of years past:

Note: The newspaper Osawatomie was named after abolitionist John Brown, whose nickname was Osawatomie Brown. (Commemorative t-shirts here.) John Brown is one of the two figures on the cover of Ayers and Dohrn’s new book.

I can’t believe we are at this point where it’s 3 days away and NOBODY so far has been able to ask Obama what he thinks of Marxism, Socialism, his father being a socialist, his Cousin Odinga being a socialist, what he thinks of the tenets of Black Liberation Theology, which parts does he agree with, which parts does he reject, does he think white people are responsible for all the ills in the world, does he think the US is imperialist, are community organizers generally socialististic, how far can that be taken, does he think monetary reparations needed to be done in the 60′s, does he think they need to be done today, how much is enough and how do you measure that, how does he explain the rise of the poor class after welfare was reformed and why would he want to bring that back? Or anything else along these lines.

Gahh- This whole election is horrifying.

    Oh, give me a break…

    This is getting ridiculous.

Zombie is slowly turning into one of those paranoiacs who think they see the Free Mason logo everywhere, but in this case it’s the Weathermen, not the Masons. What’s the difference between the stupid ramblings of some “9-11 Truth” idiot and these last few essays that are seemingly obsessed with a conspiracy between The Weathermen and Obama to bring Socialism to America?

When is the old Zombietime coming back?

I must be missing something. Other than both being circular (well, sort of circular for the WUO symbol), and both being partly red, I don’t see any similarity.

  12. 12ledger on Nov 1, 2008 at 5:12 pm:

Do to agree that the word “audacity” sounds like something Obama would write.

    I see the a pattern:

    1. Create a economic crisis, divide and anger people.
    2. Promise “retribution” of the wealth to the “poor.”
    3. Use other people’s money to gain power.

That seems to be the same tactic Obama and his minions have taken. Obama is a socialist.

Those that view him as ‘The One’ hate republicans so much they would vote for a pet rock if it had a D next to its name.

This means that there is no talking to these people. There’s just no point. There’s no fact, no bit of evidence, no argument that you could make that would persuade them from voting for Barry. The LA Times could release the video, and it could have Obama clubbing baby harp seals while talking about how he is going to burn down the White House and it wouldnt hurt him in the polls at all.

That leaves the ‘undecided voter’, but I believe there is no such animal. To my mind, those that tell pollsters that they are undecided are lying. Either that or they are morons who havent been paying attention and are unlikely to vote anyways. We can only hope that Barry’s habit of closing badly continues.

Im just nibbling at the bottom edge of the middle class and Id hate to think what might happen with The One in the White House and super majorities in both houses. Having that crew in power at this difficult economic junctor would be like having a hyper, dyslexic 9 year old piloting a 747 during a thunderstorm.

  15. 15James on Nov 1, 2008 at 5:36 pm:

Every President will try and reshape the country into the image of his values. That’s what leaders do once they get into power.

A person’s values do not appear at random overnight. They are a product of his life, an accumulation of the evolution of his ideas, attitudes, past associations and activities.

If we want to get an idea of a potential President’s agenda for America, we must know more about his values. Thus it is perfectly reasonable to conduct a thorough investigation into his past. Those who believe this is nothing more than a “smear” are naive enough to think that the things a candidate says to promote himself during an election campaign are sufficient to discern the intentions and the character of that candidate. They are not.

Obama isn’t stupid enough to stand behind a podium and say “behold, it is I who will transform America into a socialist state.” But once elected, he sure as hell can point us toward that future. He can do the groundwork, lay the foundations. Step one is to do as much as possible toward sowing the collectivist meme throughout the populace. You can bet your ass that our media and our institutions of learning will do everything they can to help him – they sure as hell have done everything they can to attack capitalism and individualism for the last few decades. To what extent will a President like Obama embolden them to step up their attacks?

Socialists know that the time has passed for a “violent overthrow” of the system. The proletariat they had hoped would help them have been made far too comfortable by the spoils of capitalism to rise up. Thus, the socialists changed their strategy.

They figured that the best way to provoke change would be to persuade the population that the country they live in is inherently evil, mean and oppressive and that the only way out of this “hell” is going to be by adopting the agenda of the left. Hence, socialists are relentless in their promotion of the idea that America is a racist state. Racism is an emotive subject which socialists use as bait to attract the minds of the masses. For the last few decades they have, through their agents and sympathizers in education and the media, hammered home the idea that racism is the greatest force of evil in history and the biggest obstacle to achieving peace and prosperity.

I live in New York City. Every single time I’ve happened across a protest march that was about racism – most recently the Sean Bell protests – I’ve noticed that the entire march has been sponsored by local communist and socialist groups, who provide banners with their logo and slogans like “end racist police brutality – embrace communism.”

Racism is one of many forms of evil that comprise a “package deal” of evil that they associate with (blame on) capitalism. So: racism, sexism, paternalism, nationalism, religious intolerance (mainly anti-Muslim) and every other favorite left wing “ism” is blamed on the fact that we have a free economy. If only we could smash that economic system and take power out of the hands of the inherently evil capitalists then we could solve all of those problems.

They have done such a bang-up job of promoting this nonsense among young “politically aware” people that it’s not uncommon to hear the following when engaged in debate with one of them: “what do you have against socialism? Are you a racist?” They’ve been trained to make absurd connections like these so that whenever they hold the concept of capitalism in their heads, a whole package deal of evil surrounds it.

Now we have the prospect of a time-served socialist for President, whose race the left believe is a factor in his ability to “heal our racial divisions.” Anyone who disagrees is a racist, of course. Probably a capitalist, too.

As for Ayers, the question is not so much “what does Obama see in Ayers,” but “what does Ayers see in Obama?” A man whose entire adult life has been devoted to smashing the capitalist system and replacing it with socialism, values the mindset and ambition of Barack Obama to the extent that he held a party in his home to launch his political career. When William Ayers takes it upon himself to celebrate the launch of a career in politics, we should be very weary of that person. When that person has a very good chance of becoming the President of the United States of America, we should do everything we can to stop him.

Does anyone seriously think that Obama talks to his radical buddies in the same middle-of-the-road, centrist “I’m just another Clinton” way that he talks to the U.S. electorate? Of course he doesn’t. They talk of their great excitement in finally having the chance to lay the foundations of socialism on top of the bedrock of individual liberty and economic freedom which they hope to bury eventually. They’re planting seeds, is what they’re doing. And with a liberal supermajority, they won’t face much opposition.

I don’t entirely agree with you. Yes, ~42% of the populace will vote for Obama even if he murdered the Dalai Lama live on national TV. And ~42% will vote Republican simply because that’s what they always do. Of the remaining 16% of “persuadables,” ,maybe 7% have gone for Obama, and 3% for McCain. That leaves 6% undecided. It is that 6% that I am targeting with this post — not the Obama true-believers, not the die-hard Republicans. I’m also hoping to reach some of the 7% who have chosen Obama for various non-intellectual reasons.

A certain, very small percentage of people vote for candidates based on “gut feelings” or other completely non-informational reasons. I’m trying to, in some small way, change the tone of the perceived infoscape for such people. I think this election will come down to the wire, and if I can affect even 1/10th of 1% of voters with this post, then I have done my best. That may be the margin of difference, for all we know.

They’re punks and parasites living off their parents’ money – still. If you ever wonder what the hell happened to this great country in the ’60s, you need look no further than the spoiled angry lefties like these two, believe me. The eagle?(weird looking bird) is facing backwards and the wheat appears to be falling away.

No, it’s not about some conspiracy or “code”. These are the people, the type of mindset, which Obama sought out. The words, the rhetoric, the agenda are all shared by the very people who had a heavy influence on Obama’s belief system and world view. If these are the type of people who inspired him and influenced him, then we have reason for concern. At the very least he sees this country as fundamentally flawed (he said as much about the constitution in that Radio interview) and when he says “change”, he really means it, but at an exponential level. I do not believe he wants a revolution or anything like that, but I do believe he wants some major changes to the Constitution, such as an Economic Bill of Rights Wilson and FDR wanted to pursue years ago. And I can easily see him trying to stack the Supreme Court with judges sympathetic to this cause, something else FDR tried to do. He is a radical at his core.

It’s tough to get access to Lexis/Nexis without paying the big bucks, but there’s nothing wrong with giving Google a try.

Once you eliminate references to Obama and a popular audio editing program called Audacity, there are about 2,400,000 references to Audacity on the web.

By comparison, there are 630,000,000 references to Hope on the web.

Of course Hope has the horrible disadvantage of being a person’s name and I don’t think there’s any reasonable way to filter out all those uses. But still, the point is well taken. Another comparison might be with another adjective like amazing. There are 39,000,000 instances of that on the web.

There are over a billion references to Change. Change also has a lot of meanings, from changing times to the change you get back from your grocer.

As another commenter has said, though, how can we really consider this as a link to Ayers if Barack got the words from Reverend Wright’s sermon? As far as I know, Ayers is not religious and from available evidence doesn’t seem to hold religion in particularly high esteem. Admittedly the political views of Rev. Wright’s church are remarkably similar to Ayers’. It would be interesting to see if any links could be found.

I agree with those who think the Obama logo is not all that similar to the Weather Underground logo. But I’m not going to be too negative towards Zombie. For one thing, it’s only a bit after Halloween and he might eat my brains. For another, I think he’s done impressive work in unearthing these documents and they are very interesting and enlightening to read.

I don’t think you have to believe Obama got his ideas from the Weather Underground in order to understand the significance of the Ayers connection in his political education and views. It seems like Obama’s involvement in the Chicago Annenberg Challenge and his support of Ayers’ Local School Council initiatives are sufficient to understand that he was at least highly sympathetic towards Ayers’ radical goals. Those goals are essentially anti-education and very much against improvement in skills, while Annenberg’s goals were to improve skills. Ayers’ views won because Annenberg wasn’t paying the attention they should have to where their money was going.

It makes me feel very bad about Obama that he supported an anti-education education initiative! This shows a severe error of judgement on his part or (more likely) a belief that racial and ethnic factors are more important than improving actual skills. If Obama does become President I believe he will force similar programs on schools, most likely knocking school progress back decades. That alone is reason enough to oppose the man.

    Hope that was interesting.

I looked at some your stuff before, and had a measure of respect for you, as you seemed somewhat intelligent and reasoned, but that respect is now flushed down the toilet (along with the respect I once had for McCain, and along with his honor, as he’s run the most vile, in fact dangerous presidential campaign in American political history). Charles from LGF paradoxically eschews and condemns paranoid, delusional conspiracy theories such as rumors regarding Obama’s birth certificate being forged and what have you. I say paradoxically because now in his panic he has approvingly linked to this garbage article of yours, with its ridiculous insinuations that Obama is the Weather Underground’s Manchurian Candidate. Good grief. How desperate and pathetic.

You know you are desperate and just fabricating a loony conspiracy theory in the last-minute, flailing-arms hope of confusing and raising doubts in some gullible voters. I know this to be the case since you essentially admit to this this tactic in your comments at LGF. For instance,

LGF member DisgustingOratory: “You see the arch symbol a lot in New Age stuff too. I tried to make the connection, but the symbol seems to have come from a respectable marketing firm with not too much input from Obama himself.”

Zombie: “I’m sure that’s probably true. But at this stage of the game, the only thing left that will reach the undecideds are *visuals* — words and facts are probably beyond the capacity of these people.”

DisgustingOratory: “That [Obama's logo and the Weather Underground logo juxtaposed] gave me chills.”

Zombie: ” *That* is the reaction I’m looking for. Just a gut-level uneasiness. Something to make anyone pause before pulling that lever for Obama. Something non-verbal — something to give you chills.”

So by your own words you are trying to fool the “stupids” into voting for McCain on the basis of irrational fear. You really *are* a Republican! You are inventing propaganda you know to be false, absurd, and slanderous in your desperate last-ditch assault on Obama. You are an admitted liar, and this behavior is truly reprehensible.

I never stopped to analyze why, but the Obama logo has always bugged me on a subconscious level. It doesn’t make any sense graphically, and visually it’s not very aesthetic. I’ve worked with type and fonts, designed logos, etc., and I can’t grasp how this logo evolved from the O that it supposedly represents. What do the stripes represent? If the US flag, then where’s the field of stars? Or has The One white circle/star replaced all the other 49? If it’s just an O, then why is half of it obscured by the stripes?

I looked up what it meant: The stripes are farmland, the blue is the sky above, and the white circle is the morning sun, which connotes hope. OK, I can see the stripes as waves of grain, but the circle to me looks like the moon, which connotes Islam. A rising sun is not white. I don’t care if the logo colors have to be red, white and blue.

So to understand and appreciate this logo, you have to have read the explanation. The man is really full of himself. He can’t just have a simple logo that stands for his name. No, he has to have a little micro-sermon that preaches at us every time we glimpse it.

There is a mountain of written evidence, written by Obama himself, that tell us
all about his plan to make this country a Socialist Nation. The Intelligent people
of America will vote against Obama. The rest of the people have their head in the sand, so naive that they will believe anything he says, no matter how stupid
that may be. Everything that comes out of his mouth is a lie, and it can be

of them are living in mansions and giving very little to charity, yet complaining
that we working people won’t give most of our hard earned money to someone
else, who doesn’t work or pay taxes.

Obama doesn’t even help his own brother, aunt or any of his relatives.
Yet, I am an 81 year old woman, still working and earning money, and I am
supporting a 49 year old daughter who has Multiple Sclerosis, and her daughter

Bill Ayers is not one more funny uncle rattling around Barack’s attic like Wright, Pfleger, Marshall Davis, Rezko, Auchi, Davidson, Khalidi, al-Mansour, ACORN, and so on. It was no coincidence that after laying low for decades Ayers resurfaced onto the national scene precisely on 9/11/01. In his NYT interview “No Regrets for a Love Of Explosives,” which he knew would be published on that infamous day, he said he regretted that his own bombings of the Pentagon and the Capitol building were not enough and that he wished he had done more. His founding philosophy for the Weatherman organization is quoted there: “Kill all the rich people. Break up their cars and apartments. Bring the revolution home. Kill your parents.” From his memoir: “Big buildings and wide streets, cement and steel were no longer permanent. They, too, were fragile and destructible. A torch, a bomb, a strong enough wind, and they, too, would come undone or get knocked down.” His wife, Dohrn, has had much worse to say.

That interview’s release date was to let people know in time that he was the one who, using his Middle East connections, organized the new bombings that day in Washington (though the Capitol assault was thwarted by heroic passengers). The attacks on the Twin Towers that day were his gift to his more doctrinaire Marxist admirers and, he hoped, would lead eventually to the financial decline of the West, thus ending Capitalism. And it was during that time, using his radical education contacts and his local Chicago political/religious/legal connections and his loaned literary skill, that he was maneuvering his protege Obama onto the fast track into the White House–and now here we are!

It was mainly just a lot of invective, not worth responding to, except for kicks. Zombie’s point is is that the Obamabots and the Weathermen sound a lot alike, which is pretty much true.

“… the system itself is inhuman, and socialism is a real alternative; the energy crisis is the fault of Rockefeller and the oil companies, not the Arab people; unemployment is caused by capitalism not “illegal aliens” stealing jobs; war in Indochina or the Mideast is part of the problem, not the solution; political and social action can change things.”

Same sort of drivel one hears from the leftoid Obamabots these days, with a few buzzwords changed.

#49 Mr. Sandman and #66 ChenZhen:

I see nothing wrong, shameful, embarrassing or discrediting about me trying to communicate visually with the kind of voters who respond to visual cues. In fact, a great deal of Obama’s campaign imagery revolves around that exact concept.

Let’s see if I can put it more clearly for you: There are many many many policy reasons to not vote for Obama in this election; and such reasons have been spelled out extensively by countless writers and analysts. I dislike his approach to foreign policy; I hate his nanny-state domestic plans; I think he will intentionally or unintentionally cripple the economy, I think he will encourage America’s enemies worldwide by being too “soft” militarily; he will promote “social justice” educational programs which are little more than indoctrination; and so on and so on. I could list reasons all day.

But if a voter at this stage of the campaign remains “undecided,” then they obviously aren’t paying attention to facts or policy statements. If you’re a leftist, you like Obama for these policies and will vote for him. If you’re not a leftist, you hate his policies and will not vote for him. And if you’re a single-issue voter (abortion/guns/etc.) you’ve already made your choice as well. After all that, who remains? Very few people. And those people are very hard to decipher — because they don’t make decisions based on hard, solid information. They apparently make their decisions on impressions, or gut feelings.

The Obama campaign, and its supporters, targets such voters directly when they depict Obama as a saint, or with a halo, or having a presidential seal, or being messianic, and so on. None of those campaign strategies are fact-based, or have any connection to reality. Such strategies exist solely to reach the “feeling”-based electorate.

So when I glue together the Weather Underground logo and the Obama logo — which, by the way, is a minor aspect of my report — I do so to appeal to the same group of voters. To put a seed of unease in their brains about Obama.

It is no different than any of the pro-Obama propaganda imagery that has been floating around for months. In fact, mine is at least based in fact, because those are in fact their logos.

What you both are saying, essentially, is: We are allowed to have non-informational propaganda imagery to promote our candidate, but you, zombie, are not allowed to produce non-informational imagery that will damage Obama’s image. When we create propaganda, it certainly doesn’t damage our credibility, for we are above criticism; but when you produce something to puncture our propaganda, it damages your credibility.

    Typical double standard.

If you think I’m no longer credible because I pointed out similarities between the Weather Underground’s statements in the past, and the words and images of the modern Left (as embodied by Obama), then you are free to seek entertainment elsewhere on the Web.

I’m also puzzled at the demonization of the word “organizer.” Just because Obama was a “community organizer” and Ayers (and the left in general) talks about organizing, doesn’t make it a dirty word. Anyone who is politically active and wants to effect change of some kind will be or hire people who are “organizers” of some sort.

Ayers was an a**-hole because he and his companions chose violence to advance their goals. They’re wrong because they think Marxism-Leninism has anything valuable to offer. But their goals, of ending racism and poverty are themselves laudable. Hate them for their destructive theories, sure, but doesn’t mean every word ever associated with them becomes a dirty word.

Wow. Election’s a day-and-a-half away and this is all you’ve got?

These various Chicago characters you’re trying to hang on Obama are nothingburgers, and voters know it.

Ayers was a guy who did some despicable things when Obama was a child, avoided prison because the gov’t broke too many laws trying to nail him, and has become a well-regarded education expert and local activist. He’s never been any kind of a mentor to or significant influence on Obama. If Obama’s “palling around with terrorists” by sitting on the same board as Ayers, the Annenberg foundation, run by a bunch of Republicans, must be Al-Qaeda.

That’s it. There’s nothing there. So now you’re reduced to reading chicken entrails and claiming Obama was influenced by some obscure radical newspaper, common words like “audacity” are radical shibboleths, and there are secret Muslim/commie/radical/etc symbols in his logos.

Oh, and thanks for informing me that raising the top tax rate by 3.5% is socialist, while Bush nationalizing banks and Sarah Palin increasing the dividend every Alaskan gets from state-owned natural resources is apparently totally laissez-faire.

Look, you are “allowed” to post anything you want all day long, and I’m not going to dispute that a lot of what goes into any political campaign is imagery-driven propaganda. But as I alluded to (and you now readily admit), you’ve moved from “citizen journalist” to “citizen propagandist”, so perhaps what I said really shouldn’t get under your skin. And now that you’ve cleared it up, I say go for it. It’s desperate and pathetically flimsy, but “A” for effort.

    Re: #69 Zombie

Nice try, but the Logo-conspiracy absurdity is just one example I focus in on in your admitted propaganda post, since that alone in enough to show what a (intentionally created, and admitted) sham this whole thing is. But just to further drive the knife in, here’s another LGF post of yours (http://littlegreenfootballs.com/showc/40/6144954):

Zombie: “At this stage, I no longer care [about whether this will come across to some as 'tinfoil hat propaganda']. I made a conscious decision to go after the remaining gravel at the bottom of American society; the lunatics, the paranoids, the idiots, the people who can’t make up their minds after a year of information about this guy. *The only thing left is to hit them on a subconscious level*.”

As ChenZen says so pointedly, you have forever destroyed your reputation as a “citizen journalist.” Much like, I might add, McCain forever ruined his “maverick brand” with his nasty campaign. You are no better than those who tried to push the “Big Black Man inscribes ‘B-for-Barack” with knife into white girl’s face” hoax, despite obvious credibility problems with the story from the start. Forget journalistic integrity, we *must* not let Obama win, so we *must* get voters to fear him on “a subconscious level.” Disgusting.

Mycroft, #75, “normally a big fan” of yours, also makes some good points, including this one:

“I’m also puzzled at the demonization of the word “organizer.” Just because Obama was a “community organizer” and Ayers (and the left in general) talks about organizing, doesn’t make it a dirty word. Anyone who is politically active and wants to effect change of some kind will be or hire people who are “organizers” of some sort.”

Not to make this about race, but just because it vividly exposes your McCarthyism here, one might note that Martin Luther King Jr. was a exemplar of a “community organizer” in this respect. Anyone would be able to find phrases in his speeches about “organization,” “hope,” “change,” etc. as well. By the standards of the drivel of this article, you would paint him as a “radical communist subversive,” as in fact he was portrayed by the regressive forces of his day.

If you condemn me on that account, you condemn the entire Obama campaign and 95% of the efforts by his supporters, because they too are trying to communicate to the uneducated with vague symbology. Or, are you implying that Obama really is the Messiah? That he really does have a halo? That is is some supernatural iconic figure? All of which (and much more) are routinely displayed by the Obama camp. Based on no facts whatsoever — just an appeal to the subconscious of the uninformed voter.

Oh please, tone back the hyperbole a bit. Unless you demand perfection all the time, nobody can ever forever destroy their reputation.

A few nights ago on the Daily Show Bill Kristol said, “If you’re a liberal you should vote for Obama, if you’re a conservative you should vote for McCain. It’s not a psycho-drama, it’s just an election.”

How true! When did we adopt this all or nothing mind-set where we can’t just disagree with someone over something and discuss that disagreement with mutual respect, but instead everything has to be an all or nothing proposition where someone who disagrees with you about one thing has to be wrong on everything and suspect of all kinds of evil Machiavellian motivations.

The truth is the right is legitimately concerned with the extremist nut-cases on the extreme left, just as the left is legitimately concerned with the extremist nut-cases on the extreme right, but the majority of us fall somewhere in between those extremes and have more in common than not. Normal people don’t assume that just because someone says something ridiculous on one topic that they must be ridiculous on every topic.

But not Obama, he has said “I feelAmerica is ‘redeeming’ itself”, and his wife is ‘now’ proud of this country! That should say it all, folks. Obama says basically America sucks!, that he will ‘change’ it – WHAT DOES THAT MEAN TO YOU! He’s not saying he wants to make it better-he wants to change the country! THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THIS COUNTRY, FOLKS! PEOPLE FLOCK TO COME HERE-WANT TO STAY HERE -AND NEVER WANT TO LEAVE! WE HAVE PROBLEMS BUT WE ALSO THINK THIS COUNTRY HAS PROGRESSED FROM OUR FOUNDING FATHERS, NOT BAD FOR AN EXPERIMENT! PLEASE FOLKS, REALLY THINK HARD AND LONG ABOUT THIS ELECTION-IT MAY BE OUR LAST!!!!

You call me a “leftist Kool-Aid drinker” even as you freely admit to mixing up this paranoid, delusional Kool-Aid concoction and try to get those you so endearingly call “the lunatics, the paranoids, the idiots” to drink it up. It’s your last best desperate push for McCain. That should say something about his “strength” as a presidential candidate, and what *positive* things he brings to the table (i.e., nothing), or at least how you see it.The Obama campaign has done nothing comparable to this sort of irrational conspiracy-based fear-mongering, nor is it guilty of the overblown rhetoric you and the right wing charge it with.

And your Ansel Adams analogy fails because what you are doing is actually *presenting* these insinuations and smears as stemming from legitimate journalism, like you present your other work. You aren’t presenting this as a work of fiction and imagination. Ansel Adams is not attempting to deceive the public in that analogy you gave. The closer analogy to what you’ve done here would be a scientist who produces a fraudulent experiment report, or fudges the data toward the results he likes.

Obama is, when you get right down to it, a cautious, consensus-minded, mildly progressive, largely middle-of-the road politician. That’s why moderate Republicans and centrist policy types are flocking to him. That’s why tarring him as some kind of radical is ridiculous. He wants to raise the top tax rate to 39.5%. ‘OK, so if it all is “socialist,” as you say, why would voting for McCain-Palin be any better?’

You don’t have to put socialist in quotation marks. To answer the question: because the Democrats are a lot more socialistic than the Republicans are, and some of us (well, me anyway), don’t want any more socialism than is absolutely necessary…and we have way more than is absolutely necessary. The Republicans are just the lesser of two evils.

I want to be free (not taken care of, you lefties can take your nanny state and ram it)…and state controlled economies always wind up destroying freedom. We’re already to the point where you can’t take a crap without filling out some kind of government form first, and the petty handouts the government offers to most of us will never make up for the freedom we’ve already lost.

If you want to see what socialism really is, then look at the slave system they used to have in the American south. The masters of the state (plantation owners) had total power over the slaves and complete control of both the means of production and the distribution of goods insofar as their relationship with the slaves went…and we all know what the masters of the state did with that power. That’s what socialism is.

If we keep giving the government more and more power, we’ll eventually wind up as slaves to the government or whoever controls the government, and all we’ll be is a source of labor and cannon fodder (for which see the liberal Democrats use of military conscription over the last hundred years). Christ, you can see it happening right in front of your eyes with this bailout crap. Your money is going to bail out the mortgage companies and bankers when they get in trouble, but it only cuts one way, if you get in trouble…you’re SOL. There’s no way in hell, they’re going to pass emergency legislation to bail you out. Over time, socialism ALWAYS turns into “welfare reform” for most of the yokels and never ending bailouts for the rich and their pals in the government.

Keep voting guys like FDR, LBJ, and the newest socialist wanker, Obama, into power, and you’re cutting your own throat. No matter what they promise you today, it’s all bullshit, and in the long run, your free handouts will turn into their handouts.

The Republicans are bad, but the Democrats are hell on earth. ALL of the real growth in the size of the federal government came in the period 1933-1975 when the federal government was essentially the private property of the liberal Democrats. During those years federal expenditures rose from 5% of GDP to 20% of GDP, which is where it is now, but if we go back to letting the liberals control both houses of Congress and the presidency, we’ll all be serfs in a couple of centuries. It’s happened before elesewhere, and it’ll happen here too.

I put “socialist” in quotes above because neither McCain or Obama’s policies can be described as socialist in any meaningful sense. No modern state (with the possible exception of anarchic spaces like Somalia) is totally laissez-faire, nor should they be. Every state intervenes in the economy, regulates industry, tries to offer some sort of safety net for the losers in economic competition. Some methods, obviously, work better than others, but simply raising tax rates or bailing out failing businesses isn’t socialist. Socialism is when the government owns at least “the commanding heights” of the economy and runs them for the general good. This means that the slave plantations of the antebellum South were not socialism. That was a feudal system where power accrued to wealthy landowners.

As for your concerns about liberty, I fail to see how Democratic policies are so threatening to it. We’re coming to the end of a GOP administration which launched a war based on lies, runs a gulag in Cuba, tortures, wiretaps its citizens without warrants, has declared itself able to arrest anyone–US citizens included–and imprison them indefinitiely withour due process, and has vastly increased the size of government and the deficit while running the economy into the ground. How could the Democrats possibly do worse?

Anytime the government or the people who control the government have control over means of production and distribution of goods, that’s socialism, and the more socialism you have, the less freedom, and also the less prosperity you have.

I found it interesting looking up “Osawatomie”. I found some very interesting things:
The Battle of Osawatomie happened in August 30, 1856 when 250-300 Border Ruffians led by John W. Reid and Rev. Marvin White attacked the city of Osawatomie. John W. Reid was intent on destroying free state settlements and then moving on to Topeka and Lawrence to do more of the same. John Brown first got word that the group was coming when they shot his son Frederick. Brown with forty or so men tried to defend the town against the pro-slavery agitators, but failed and the town of Osawatomie was looted and burned. This is one event in series of skirmishes between abolitionists and pro-slavery Missourians in what has been known as Bleeding Kansas.

Then I looked up “Bleeding Kansas”:
Bleeding Kansas, sometimes referred to in history as Bloody Kansas or the Border War, was a series of violent events, involving Free-Staters (anti-slavery) and pro-slavery “Border Ruffian” elements, that took place in the Kansas Territory and the western frontier towns of the U.S. state of Missouri roughly between 1854 and 1858. These incidents were attempts to influence whether Kansas would enter the Union as a free or slave state. The term “Bleeding Kansas” was coined by Horace Greeley of the New York Tribune.

The events in Bleeding Kansas directly presaged the American Civil War.<<<=====

    The name Osawatomie can indicate:
    1. abolitionists: Obama and Ayers
    2. pro-slavery : Republicans and the USA
    3. I found it VERY interesting that the events in “Bleeding Kansas”…..quote:directly presaged the American civil war.

Hey fella’s, i’ve got a question, how come no one has mentioned that rockefeller scumbag thats a democratic senator now, does’nt anyone remember his part in it all back then? His father had hated him because he was a christian zionist socialist communist, and a member of the American communist organization, and it was his father that had been part of the energy crises back then as well.

    1) His father had been ill, and bedridden, and was going to die from his condition, but he still had a year or so left in him, remember in the news then he had died suddenly, and his son was the only one in the house with him, and the doctors had said he had all the indications of someone being smothered to death. The courts had tried to pin it on him, but the final decision was made to be inderterminite, he could have died from his condition, or being smothered. By a bought and paid for socialist communist judge.

    2) The investigating FBI guys had been at the weather underground training and safe house, when outside, Rockefeller had been about to enter the building to meet with the terrorists, as he was the one who had been funding ayers and his group, but again the court had determined that he could’nt be proved to have been doing that. He had had a judge that was a democratic leaning idiot. A socialist communist, and bought.

    3) Rockefeller had known for his mexican/south American contacts with christian zionist groups, and communist affiliations as well, and that ties in with all the massive immigration in recent years from there as well. Remember he had been disgraced, and booted from the republican party, because he was working for the democrats, and they had found it out. All that coincided with himself, and Ayers getting off scotfree, why Ayers had said he was guilty as hell, and free as a bird. Both the democrats of then, and the republicans had both blackmailed one another about what each side had known about the other, why the republicans could’nt prosicute the bastards, because of Rockefellers being in their party, and knowing how they had engineered the energy crises, the details/persons involved which could’nt be revealed to the public then. And why his fathers companys, and assets were taken from him, and given to a distaff member of the family to own/control.

    4) His appearence at the democratic convention when Obama had been chosen as the democratic nominee over Hillary, when he had said to them all, it was covered by the media, “well, fiengold got his pound of gold” {for his crossing the aisle deal with McCain} “i took a chance coming here, but i had to come out, since our pick has become the nominee, to congratulate him, and say thank you, to you all who have made this possable”.

    5) He, Reid, Pelosie, and other religious and/or liberal democrats{communists} had quite the close association as well between the congress, and the senate, and the implementing of policy’s that further drained the wealth of our nation.

6)Why was’nt any of that mentioned when they had been trying to pin Obama for his associations with the Ayers scumbag. And why was the FBI agent who was to speak about it on fox cut off when he was about to talk about what they had found outside the first night they had him on, the connection was totally cut.

    7) Obama was definately a part of the conspiracy of the socialist communists, who are about to be placed in total power of our nation. His jew grandfather, the father of Obamas jew mother, was the brother of none other then Bloomberg, the jew king of newyork, Obamas relative, whose contacts overseas is the reason he had so much filtered in campaign money. That, as much as his really being born in Kenya, was what his half brother in Kenya was murdered for, to cover up, and his female relative from there having fled here to America, and why it is definately the reason why she is kept at his familys side, not so much for protection, but to keep her quite. As well, his real father was the head/king, of the kenyan muslim sect his family was a part of. The medias saying his grandmother in Hawaii was ill was true, but not to the extent it had been made out to be, she had been a prisnor in her own home, because she had wanted to spill the beans, about who he really is, and what he, and the jew zionists are really up to, and to let us know he really is’nt an American citizen. And why she had died early. It, her death, was also used to garner him more sympathy for votes, by the gullable here in America.

    8) The jew zionists had created the circumstances that had put us into the war, the reasons are many, but the salient ones were to destroy the republican party, the only ones who can save white America, why most of the bad things that had happened, such as all the criminal activity by the those who had been exposed as thieves within the groups and agencys had been set up by the jews, the rapes, and other things like the torture, and the theft of all that money, and then they turned them in to the other side they want to come to power to further erode support for the republicans, the domestic phase useing all the liberal leftist fools, why that insane jew scumbag was able to pull the majority coup of the democrats in congress, the one about to become chief of staff, whose father is a well known terrorist, and slayer of palstinians. Guess what his son did on his holidays/vacations there in isreal.

    9) Though the democrats/communists think they have successfully fuzzed who is exactly responsable for the subprime morgage crises, we all know it was policy’s made by clinton, and then democrats during the republican presidencys, along with zionist republican plants to further fuzz it up later, why the repubs had tried to let everyone know exactly how they had oppossed such policys, and had wanted more oversight of fanny/freddie mac, the same way they had started the war useing rumsfeld/cheney, who had been part of the big three, they were thinking far ahead in their planning. But one thing they can never fuzz, and that is in able to do it in the first place, the jew bankers had to both know, and approve of its covering up, until it was to late.

    10) Consider also, all the invalid votes from ignorent people who are, in my own opinion, not even Americans, and how they fudged the votes through fraud, and how the electoral collage is now mostly composed of leftists, and minoritys/jews.

There it is people, we are about to move to the endgame phase of their planning, can we wonder why most of our combat trained troops are still in Irag/Afganistan, how many minoritys is homeland defense composed of, we know that the one million man police force will be mostly minoritys, and better armed then our armed forces, which Obama has already stated he will cut funding to, and reduce, the irony is that he says it will save money, then where is the money going to come from to fund/equip/support his police force with. Why are there so many muslims in Canada, why here in America as well. Look up the immigration stats if you can, and look at it with an eye to race, religious affiliation, and whether they have communist/muslim leanings.

Ayers is the key to it all, and who was actually there at his house, along with Obama, at Obamas political coming out party, the inner circle. All of them who had been there, exept for business run ins, have studiously avoided contact with one another since, until he became president elect. We know how the radicals are being made to look as if they were’nt radicals now on the news, he’s taking care of his friends in the conspiracy. Through his friends in the media, a jew owned operation. The whole thing with Hillary was to garner him as many votes as possable, they already knew she would’nt be president elect, right from the start.

We, the real America those scum are trying to destroy, can’t let him go beyond president elect, how that is done, i guess we have to see if real America is going to do it, if they don’t, then were going to have innercity barbarians all over the place in positions of so called authority, and white Americans dieing in droves, disappeared, our nation in flames, our children savaged, and raped, and killed.

Anyone who wishs to use any of this is free to do so, anywhere else you think it would be read.

The hold overs from the clinton administration that had positions within the other offices of defense, and intelligence, after the Bush administration moved in. And those republicans who were plants to begin with, and those of them who were in on it because of some sort of restraint or blackmail. President Bush had been played bigtime when he was in his first administration, with there plot. Set him up useing his patriotism against him with false information.

The socialist communist’ had setup fallbacks as well. Useing the religious elemments both for, and against one another.
The various social issue’s being played when they were, to influence public opinion, backed up with some very real economic positions, which they themselves had caused. The outright excuses made by the democratic communist congress for their own involvements that had been played off as other thing’s, to cover what people thought through the media.

The treason level is way up there, and it is’nt our George who is one. Anyway, that stuff about Rockefeller actually happened, and it was in the news back then. He is part of the Communist half{democrat} of the senate today. And had stayed out of most of the planning executions. But he did try some policy changes in the first 4yrs of the war, and was behind others that were passed by others among the zionist communists. Useing the multiple fake, inner party bi-partisionship.

Of course, they also forgot about the tens of millions who were eventually killed in the name of creating a “better society”. And they forgot about the oppression, the lack of economic opportunity with centralized economies, the destruction of prosperity and incentive, the complete and utter despair, the propaganda and media takeover by one ideology, the re-education of those who disagree, the lost freedom and control of the individual (for the “greater good”), the iron curtain (to keep people in), etc., etc., etc.

This administration is proudly made up of radical leftist extremists. They have honestly said that they want to destroy the capitalist society and create a big government tyranny. That is the one thing they have been transparent about! They want to take away our freedoms (for our own good, they say), and redistribute wealth (which is just institutionalized THEFT!). But some folks still are so blind that they won’t see it until it is too late. Socialism does NOT work–never has. It is the WORST form of government and society ever created by mankind. But the idealogues just cannot see it because they are too busy “feeling” — instead of using logic and reason to see the true consequences.

With havin so much content and articles do you ever run into any issues of plagorism or copyright violation?
My blog has a lot of unique content I’ve either written myself or outsourced but it appears a lot of it is popping it up all over the internet without my agreement. Do you know any solutions to help stop content from being stolen? I’d really appreciate it.
