Code Pink Garage Sale

While cruising up Solano Avenue in Albany on Saturday, I noticed something unusual: Code Pink was having a garage sale at their Bay Area headquarters. I stopped by to have a look.

I was hoping to pick up some interesting Code Pink detritus, but (as I later found out when I looked it up online) most of the stuff for sale was not actually from Code Pink itself but rather was donated to them by others. So it was mostly just random household doodads, not revolutionary leftovers.

The only interesting artifact for sale was a poster praising Mordechai Vanunu.

Obviously you’re so distracted by that poster that you don’t even notice that completely bitchin’ fedora in the background.

It was supposed to be part bake sale, too, or at least they were sending out email encouraging some kind of associated bake party to make stuff to sell.

ProtestShooter: Yes, it was a bake sale too. Out of the frame, around the front of the house on the right, they were selling baked goods — cupcakes, cookies, etc. Actually, HAD been selling them — the bake sale stuff was being put away as I arrived.

    BTW, The:

    AB STAIN
    FR OM
    MC CAIN

Sign was written that way likely because its the back of the sign, and them meant to attach a wood stake, but could not find one.

I’m surprised Code Pink had the grown-up skills to organize a garage sale. They usually act like my little Korean preschoolers, dressing like princesses and demanding that people listen to their mindless drivel. The main difference, of course, being that my preschoolers usually had something fairly coherent to say, which has them beating Code Pink hands-down any day of the week. And my little girls were speaking a language they’d only been using a few months.

citruscanker, I’d be afraid to wear a Code Pink hat for fear their thoughts may have leaked out into it and contaminated it. Can you pick up brain lice from headgear?

It’s been my experience that Code Pinkers can put away some cookies.

Quilly: The crazy thing is, I have Akismet installed already, but it doesn’t seem to do any good. Frustrating.
