I disagree about Eisenhower. He forced Israel to withdraw from the Sinai after the 56 Suez War. He was really a bumbling idiot, if you remember him. He was kind of like Barack Obama (and perhaps a number of others), not really qualified to be president. He was probably overrated as a general, too. You can’t argue with the success of D-Day, though, I’ll grant you that.

In elections past, I’ve called myself a Trumanista. I could go with Ike too. But it is really hard to believe that you found that bumper sticker in Berkeley. Must have been an out-of-towner visiting the kid at college.

Ike came to be viewed as a great President in retrospect. This may well turn out the case with Bush as well (‘specially if Hopeydopey follows through with all his plans).
